Dan Winters’s America: Icons and Ingenuity

by Peter Wiliams on September 18, 2012

The work of photographer and friend of AgavePrint, Dan Winters, is being featured in an exhibition at the Telfair Museums’s Jepson Center, in Savannah, GA., September 14 — November 11.

From the Telfair Museums’s website:

“Dan Winters has spent more than two decades creating memorable photographs for such publications as The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, GQ, andRolling Stone. Best known for his iconic and distinctive celebrity portraits, Winters has photographed public figures ranging from the Dalai Lama to President Barack Obama, Hollywood celebrities from Leonardo DiCaprio to Helen Mirren, and artistic luminaries from Jeff Koons to William Christenberry. His style of portraiture is instantly recognizable, characterized by impeccable lighting, muted backgrounds of greens, browns, and grays, and the contemplative postures of his sitters.”

AgavePrint is once again honored with the task of printing for this show which not only includes his photographs of popular icons, but also a wide selection of his personal photographs, illustrations, collages and the sets featured in his classic photographs. Thank you Dan.
